Hidden Heroes Day 25 September 2024
Celebrating Our Hidden Heroes: A tribute to Seetec’s volunteers on Hidden Heroes Day 2024

Today, 25 September 2024, on The Butler Trust’s Hidden Heroes Day, we take a moment to celebrate some of the dedicated people working tirelessly within UK prisons, Immigration Removal Centres (IRCs), probation, and youth justice settings.

This day is an opportunity to say thank you to all the incredible people working in these settings for the vital role they play in supporting and safeguarding some of the most vulnerable in our society.

At Seetec, we want to shine a light on our very own ‘hidden heroes’ – our amazing volunteers.

Volunteers are often the hidden gems within many organisations. While their contributions may not always be visible to the wider world, their impact is undeniable, and the work they do is truly life-changing.

Seetec is incredibly fortunate to have a group of 44 passionate and dedicated volunteers who give up their time to support our participants across the criminal justice system.

These individuals work tirelessly alongside us to help build brighter futures for people in need of guidance, support, and hope.

Whether they’re offering mentorship, providing practical assistance, or simply being a listening ear, their commitment is crucial to the success of those on the journey to rehabilitation.

Making a Difference, One Life at a Time

Volunteering in the criminal justice system is no small task – it takes a special kind of person to step into these roles.

Each of our volunteers brings a unique perspective, skill set, and heart to their work, enriching not only the lives of our participants but also their own experience of working in this sector.

Their dedication plays a key role in changing lives for the better, offering participants the support they need to turn their lives around.

As one of our participants recently shared:

I know why you call people on a Friday – it’s to lift their spirits up and give them some confidence so they don’t feel alone just before the weekend.”

Another participant echoed this sentiment:

Knowing someone is helping me is a huge relief which allowed me to relax a bit.”

A Heartfelt Thank You

We’d like to introduce you to a handful of our wonderful volunteers, below.

To our Seetec volunteers- you are our hidden heroes!

We want to express our deepest gratitude to every one of you for your kindness, dedication, and passion for making a difference, it does not go unnoticed.

You are the unsung heroes of Seetec, and we are so proud of the work you do every single day.
