The festive period can be a difficult time of year for some.
It’s definitely the season to share, to give, and to support the people in our communities.
Which is why colleagues at our Seetec office in Plymouth came up with a very special way to help participants celebrate.
Every year, they bring two gifts each to create some festive hampers to give away in an attendance raffle.
It’s just another example of how we put our values into practice – particularly; “We put ourselves in our customers’ shoes.”
As employee-owners, we see the world from others’ point of view, and our roots in the communities we serve allow us to build rapports that achieve lasting change.
The gift-sharing took place at a festive party to say thank you to Seetec’s Plymouth participants and wish them all season’s greetings.
With party food, games and the raffle, it was the perfect way to head into the festive period.
Small steps, giant leaps
Seetec’s support is about so much more than just getting people into employment.
Some people need help in breaking down personal barriers, conquering fears and boosting their confidence before they even think about finding a new job.
What may seem like a small step for some, can be a massive leap for others, as the following excerpts from a participant’s thank you letter shows:
She goes on to say: “The raffle gave extra excitement with goodies in hampers bought by the staff themselves. Very generous.
“I’m so pleased I made it, and I hope this helps other nervous people going forward. I can’t thank all the staff involved enough.
“As far as I’m concerned, it was a great success, and I do hope there is another one next year for the next bunch of Seetec-ers!“
And our Plymouth colleagues were over the moon to receive a gift in return from one of the people they’ve supported – a knitted sunflower with a very appropriate message; “Thank you for helping me grow!”
Gemma is Seetec’s business manager in Plymouth and tells us how brilliant the fun and festivities were, for both participants and colleagues alike:
“Part of creating the right environment to help customers move forward in their journey is showing some compassion and understanding for the many different situations our customers are in.
“Colleagues look forward to seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they are gifted the hampers that we make for them.
“We feel privileged to be in a position to provide support for people when they most need it.”
Seetec colleagues at offices up and down the country work hard to support participants all year round. This story from Plymouth is just one such example.
Happy Christmas from us all and here’s to a fantastic 2025!
