As an aviation operations manager you’ll be responsible for managing the environment, facilities and services at airports, military bases, heliports and other airfields to ensure the safe arrival, turnaround and departure of aircraft.
This programme is designed to build the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to effectively plan and manage the use of resources and ensure compliance with processes and procedures within an aviation environment.
Key learning outcomes:
- Managing safety within own area of responsibility, ensuring staff are compliant with safety requirements
- Managing aviation security and knowing what action to take in the event of a breach of security
- Managing communication with users, staff and external agencies
- Managing resources effectively in line with budgetary and organisational requirements
- Effective decision-making
- Managing own area of responsibility to meet the needs of the wider organisation and ensure fully cohesive airside operations
- Additional knowledge and skills relating to the management of one of six specialist functions: Aircraft handling, aircraft movement, fire service, flight operations – air traffic control, flight operations – operations or passenger operations
