After a difficult childhood, shaped by family challenges, Reo found himself on the streets dabbling in petty crime.
This led to several run-ins with the law. Watch him tell his own story about changing his life with support from Seetec.
Reflecting on his past, Reo realises the impact his childhood has had; “I’m not a criminal. I’m a good person at heart,” he tells us.
“Nobody is born bad; circumstances shape us.”
Despite the setbacks, he’s always believed in personal growth and focusses on the goodness of people.
Reo sought help through his participation in the Work and Health Programme (WHP), determined to turn his life around.
His journey toward change wasn’t easy, but with the guidance and support offered by Seetec, and more specifically Tracey – his coach at our Warrington office – he found the tools and community he needed to take control of his future.
Transformation
“If you’re willing to put in the work to heal and surround yourself with people who inspire and support you, you will elevate yourself,” he says.
His participation in the Work and Health Programme has been instrumental in his transformation.
“Seetec has really helped me discover more of myself. There’s a lot of amazing wonderful people here,” he says.
Tracey adds; “I do believe everybody deserves that second chance,” adding that – for Reo – the programme has been more than finding employment; “…it’s been about rediscovering his potential.”
Guarantee
Reo’s story underscores the importance of providing second chances and the role that the Work and Health Programme plays in helping individuals overcome difficult pasts and rebuild their lives.
“Even if you think it’s not for you,” Reo advises others; “I can guarantee, it is!”
As part of Reo’s journey through the WHP, significant focus was placed on improving his his chances of securing work.
“We made sure that Reo has a really good CV and cover letter,” shares his coach Tracey, explaining how crucial these are to get right when applying for jobs.
Reo also worked with colleagues at National Careers Service, where they checked over his CV and had a chat with him about potential courses that could further his skills.
Now, Reo, who is in his early 20s, is fully engaged in the process and motivated to find employment.
“He really wants to be working,” Tracey adds, highlighting his commitment to moving forward.
