As part of this year’s Great British Spring Clean campaign, Seetec partnered with SUEZ to deliver a collaborative beach clean along the Teignmouth coastline. The initiative brought together Seetec participants, many of whom are developing skills and working towards employment, with SUEZ’s expertise in waste management and sustainability.
The clean‑up aimed to remove harmful litter and promote pride in the local area. Armed with gloves, pickers, and bags, the group covered large stretches of Teignmouth’s beach and walkways collecting plastics, food wrappers, cigarette butts, that not only is unsightly but also poses harm to both wildlife and beach users.
Whilst taking the time to separate out the rubbish into separate buckets ready for recycling the volunteers even discovered a £10 note among the litter, a small reward for their community work!
We’re really proud of the community engagement work we do, working collaborative with our customers to promote sustainability and having a positive impact on our communities is so important. I’m so pleased that Seetec volunteers were able to join us.
Brett Sinclair, Senior Field Sales Executive for SUEZ who organised the event with Seetec
Activities like this not only help our local environment but also gives a sense of pride, especially along such a beautiful coastline. We’re delighted to have been involved in such a meaningful day.
Kristina Cousins, Seetec
Together, volunteers from Seetec and SUEZ, collected multiple bags of litter, leaving the beach safer, cleaner, and ready for residents and visitors to enjoy as the warmer months approach.
