For too many people, being out of work can feel like the end of the road. Confidence slips away, skills feel out of date and the idea of getting a job again can seem impossible.

But from 1 October 2025, there’s fresh hope. A brand-new employment support service is coming to Suffolk, designed to help local people who face the toughest barriers to work rebuild their confidence and take their next steps into lasting employment.

Seetec has been selected to deliver Connect to Work in Suffolk. Over the next five years, the programme will support more than 2,700 local residents with health conditions, disabilities and other challenges to not only find meaningful work but stay there.

What makes Connect to Work different is its community focus. Delivered right in the heart of Suffolk towns and villages, the service will meet people where they are, making the journey into work feel personal and achievable. It offers wraparound support to tackle the barriers that often stand in the way – such as health, anxiety, debt or addiction – so that people feel truly ready for the workplace.

Alongside one-to-one support, Seetec will also be working hand in hand with local employers to encourage inclusive recruitment practices, so that more people are given the opportunity to shine.

Empowering Suffolk residents with skills, support, and new opportunities

Emma Krijgsman, Operations Manager at Seetec, said:

“We are delighted to launch Connect to Work in Suffolk. Being in good work isn’t just about a payslip — it’s about people’s health, wellbeing and the freedom to live life on their own terms.

“We’re looking forward to helping thousands of people the chance to write a new chapter in their lives – one where work is not just a job, but a step towards independence and hope for the future”.

Seetec and it’s Community Interest Company, Pluss, will be delivering Connect to Work on behalf of Suffolk County Council.

Cllr Richard Smith MVO, Suffolk County Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance, Economic Development and Skills, said:

“We are proud to see Connect to Work launching here in Suffolk. We’ve worked closely with our partners to shape a local plan that can make a real difference for people who are struggling to find or stay in work.

“Everyone deserves the chance to have a meaningful, secure, and fairly paid job, and we want all our residents to know that they have something to offer, whatever challenges they may face.”
