Pluss win big at the Stars of Learning Disability & Autism awards
We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from the Stars of LD & Autism Awards, where our Pluss colleague, Andrea Meade, was crowned Superstar Support Worker.
The Superstar Support Worker Award recognises individuals who go above and beyond to deliver truly person-centred support, empowering people with learning disabilities and autism to live fulfilling, independent lives.
Andrea’s win is a powerful testament to her compassion, dedication, and the lasting impact she has on the people she supports every day. Her award was presented by Mencap ambassador and star of BBC’s The Traitors, Alexander Dragonetti.
Andrea has been instrumental in delivering inclusive, values-led support that helps individuals feel confident, respected, and believed in. Her approach is rooted in listening, understanding, and adapting support to meet each person’s unique needs — ensuring they feel valued and supported to achieve their goals.
Reacting to her win, Andrea said:
“I’m absolutely over the moon, I never thought it would happen to me, thank you.”
The evening was also a moment of pride for colleagues across Pluss and the wider Seetec group. Alongside Andrea’s success, our Learning Disability Day Opportunities Team in Plymouth were recognised through nomination and shortlisting, highlighting the strength of teamwork and shared values across our services.
Rupert Nesbitt Day, Director of Communities, said:
“We’re so proud of Andrea for winning the Superstar Support Worker award. It’s a fantastic achievement and an absolute credit to Pluss and the Seetec group. And of course a huge congratulations to our Learning Disability Day Opportunities team in Plymouth for their nomination and shortlisting. It was a fantastic evening, I’m so proud of all the teams.”
Andrea’s achievement reflects the passion, professionalism, and commitment that sit at the heart of our work — and we couldn’t be prouder. Congratulations, Andrea!
