Ellie’s Journey to Becoming a Seetec Apprentice

When Ellie was referred from Jobcentre Plus Temple Street to Seetec Bristol in June 2023, she began her journey on the Restart Programme with Employment Adviser Rory. From their very first meeting, Rory recognised Ellie’s potential and worked closely with her to build confidence, improve job readiness, and plan her career goals. Together, they developed her CV, cover letter, and job search skills—laying a strong foundation for success.

A Perfect Opportunity

When a Business Administration Apprenticeship became available within Seetec Bristol, Rory immediately thought of Ellie. The role was an ideal match for her interests, strengths, and skills. With Rory’s encouragement and support, Ellie applied and began preparing for the next stage.

Tailored Training for Success

To help Ellie get ready for her interview, Rory enlisted Trainer Paula to provide one-to-one coaching. Paula quickly recognised Ellie’s potential and designed tailored sessions to help her shine. Together, they worked on:

  • Identifying transferable skills and linking them to the job requirements
  • Developing clear, confident examples using strong employability language
  • Practicing practical interview techniques, including body language, confidence, and communication skills
  • Preparing for competency-based questions using the STAR method
  • Researching the company and understanding the responsibilities of the role

Through this focused preparation, Ellie gained the confidence and knowledge needed to impress during her interview.

“When I first joined Restart, I didn’t think I’d end up working for Seetec. Rory and Paula really believed in me and helped me see what I was capable of. Their support and training gave me the confidence to go for it, and now I’m proud to be part of the team.

Achieving Success

Ellie’s hard work and dedication paid off. Week by week, both Rory and Paula saw her confidence grow, alongside her professionalism and enthusiasm. Now a valued apprentice in the busy Seetec Bristol office, Ellie has shown she is:

  • Adaptable and proactive
  • Always willing to go the extra mile
  • A positive and supportive team member

Her journey is a brilliant example of what can be achieved with determination and the right support.
