Mental Health Awareness Week 2026
This week, teams across Seetec’s offices, including our CFO offices came together to support Mental Health Awareness Week through community activities, wellbeing events, customer success stories, and meaningful conversations focused on mental health, confidence, and connection.
From wellbeing walks and coffee mornings to inspiring customer journeys, colleagues across the region embraced the opportunity to promote positive mental health and highlight the importance of support, community, and inclusion.
St Austell Connects Customers with Local Wellbeing Support
The team in St Austell marked the week by dressing in green and welcoming Healthy Cornwall into the office to speak with customers about the wide range of free wellbeing support available locally.
Roxy from Healthy Cornwall spoke with seven customers about services including:
Slimming World vouchers
Walking groups
12 weeks of swimming support
Football activities
Stop smoking support
Online and in-person wellbeing training
The conversations continued long after the session ended, with customers sharing their own experiences and activities that help support their mental health. Five customers signed up for additional support on the day, with all attendees expressing gratitude for the opportunity.
Offices Across the Region Dress in Green
Teams across the South West showed their support by dressing in green throughout the week, with offices including Torbay and Devizes taking part to raise awareness and spark conversations around mental health and wellbeing.

Penzance Hosts Wellbeing Coffee Morning
The Penzance office brought colleagues and customers together for a Wellbeing Coffee Morning, creating a welcoming space for conversation, connection, and support. The event encouraged people to take time out, socialise, and focus on their wellbeing in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Weymouth Encourages Movement and Teamwork
Weymouth colleagues Immogen and Orla organised a Beach Seafront Challenge along Weymouth Seafront to promote wellbeing, teamwork, social connection, and National Walking Month.
Participants worked in teams to solve clues and photograph local landmarks, combining physical activity with problem-solving and social interaction in a fun and engaging way.
Barnstaple Tackles Isolation Through Community Activities
Andrea and Rich, two Restart Pluss Health and Wellbeing Coaches, supported a small group of participants, alongside family and friends, to attend a free community Bingo event hosted by Barnstaple Town Council at the Pannier Market.
The event aimed to reduce isolation by encouraging customers to engage with free local activities and feel more connected to their community.
While there were some nervous faces at first, the atmosphere quickly shifted as the group settled in, learned the rules, and got fully involved in the games. For some participants, it was their first time playing Bingo, but before long there was plenty of encouragement, laughter, and friendly competition around the table.
One participant was thrilled to win the final full house prize — a £15 voucher to spend within the market. Having never visited the Pannier Market before, he was excited to discover a Pokémon card stall and decided to use his winnings, alongside a small contribution of his own, to buy a gift for his landlady as a thank you for supporting him with his mental health.
After the event, the group headed for a hot drink together to reflect on the day, discuss barriers they had overcome, and share how much they had enjoyed the experience. Two participants are already planning to attend another free Bingo session together next month, with new friendships formed and plenty of smiles shared along the way.
Salisbury Creates Space for Ongoing Support
The Salisbury team hosted a dedicated Mental Health Awareness Week support session, bringing customers together in a safe and supportive environment to connect and talk openly about wellbeing.
The session was so well received that customers have already asked for similar sessions to continue on a weekly or monthly basis. The team also highlighted how positive it has been to make use of the facilities within their new office space to support customer wellbeing activities so early on.
Working Well Norwich-Dereham Focuses on Reconnecting and Recharging
The Working Well Norwich-Dereham team spent the morning taking part in a wellbeing session focused on slowing down, reconnecting, and recharging together.
The team completed a photography challenge during a walk to Norwich Cathedral before sharing breakfast and creating personalised wellbeing kits together in the sunshine at a local café. The kits included handmade lavender pouches, journals, supportive messages, and small comfort items designed to help during more challenging days.
The session provided a valuable opportunity for colleagues to spend quality time together, reflect, and prioritise wellbeing.
Sharing Stories of Resilience and Recovery
Throughout the week, we also shared inspiring stories from customers whose journeys demonstrate the positive impact of tailored employability and wellbeing support.
Darren’s Story
Darren joined the programme in February looking to rebuild stability, routine, and purpose after a period out of work. Through tailored one-to-one support, employability workshops, and confidence-building sessions, Darren regained both his direction and self-belief.
Within two months, he secured sustainable employment close to home as a cleaner — a role that has brought renewed structure and positivity to his daily life.
Darren said:
“I wake up in the morning with a smile on my face now that I have a job.”
Tim’s Story
After closing his business following the impact of Covid-19, Tim joined the Restart Scheme during a particularly difficult period in his life.
Through workshops and personalised support focused on resilience, stress management, confidence, and employability skills, Tim rebuilt his outlook and confidence for the future.
Reflecting on his experience, Tim said:
“Seetec has been a lifeline to me I never knew existed… I feel far more confident and skilled to find a job than I ever imagined possible.”
Tim’s journey highlights how the right support can help individuals rebuild confidence, resilience, and hope.
Spotlight on Holly and Marsden Therapy Hub
As part of the week, we also celebrated one of our Pluss Health and Wellbeing Advisers, Holly, who has launched her own charity, Marsden Therapy Hub.
The charity is dedicated to supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing, reflecting Holly’s passion for helping others both within and beyond her role at Seetec.
Continuing the Conversation
Mental Health Awareness Week has been a fantastic opportunity for colleagues and customers across our offices to come together, share experiences, and promote the importance of wellbeing and community support.
