A very special journey of fun, learning, Abba and meatballs!
This summer, 14 customers supported by Seetec’s Community Interest Company, Pluss, jetted off on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Stockholm, Sweden – and we’ve got the pictures to prove it!
Thanks to a generous opportunity offered by On Course South West and funded by the UK Government’s Turing Scheme, our group spent an unforgettable week exploring Swedish culture, landmarks and cuisine.
How it all came about

It started last year with an exciting invitation: would Pluss like to support a group of customers on an educational trip overseas?
The answer was a resounding yes.
Since then, our participants have been working hard to prepare.
All 14 completed a 10-week Entry Level Award in Personal and Social Development; a course designed to build confidence, communication and life skills.
Passports were applied for, medical cards organised, and travel insurance sorted – big steps for some of our customers, and all part of the journey. Many had never flown before or even left the UK, so this truly was a trip of firsts.
Why it matters
For our customers, this trip was much more than sightseeing. It was all about independence, confidence, and real-world experience.
Travelling with their peers and supported by a brilliant team from Pluss and On Course South West, they’ve been able to make memories that last a lifetime while developing essential life and social skills.
This is what specialist support with Pluss looks like in action: opening doors, breaking barriers and creating opportunities.

What did Stockholm have in store?
Staying in a hostel in the heart of the city, the group explored Stockholm using public transport, taking local buses and trains as they headed off each day on a packed itinerary.
Their adventures included:
- The Royal Palace
- A scenic boat tour
- The Paradox Museum
- The Viking Museum
- …and, the highlight for many, the iconic ABBA Museum!
And of course, no visit would be complete without sampling local delicacies, including those famous IKEA meatballs!
