Muriel Hayman’s career in finance spans the public service and the private sector with a focus on unlocking growth for organisations and communities. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Canterbury.
Muriel began her career in practice, where she trained as a Chartered Accountant, honing her skills in financial analysis, audit and compliance. After a move to the financial service sector, Muriel partnered with various business in Marsh & McLennan Companies and was instrumental in developing and streamlining financial reporting processes across Europe.
Seeking to further broaden her expertise, Muriel moved within the group into a European Treasury role where she led a team responsible for managing foreign exchange risk together with strategic financial and tax planning around repatriation of cash.
After establishing her own finance business which allowed her to bring up her young family, Muriel went on to support over 300 schools and multi-academy trusts in Essex by leading a team of HR, Finance, Audit and Governance professionals transitioning from the local authority to the private equity backed world of EdTech.
Throughout her career, Muriel has been recognised for her strategic vision, analytical acumen, and commitment to excellence. Inside and outside work, she is an advocate for financial literacy and enjoys mentoring young professionals entering the commercial finance sector.
