Working in partnership with NHS Devon, ‘Opportunities’ provides a service dedicated to anyone living in South Devon, in employment, and experiencing mental health difficulties which impact their job or wellbeing.

This programme offers support to overcome challenges you may be experiencing in your employment.

Its aim is to help you remain in your role. We will work closely with you and your employer and signpost appropriate extra support services when necessary.

We offer guidance, including one to one support in relation to the work situation, and provide a holistic, person-centred approach.

Eligibility

Anyone in South Devon whose mental health is affecting their work

If you attend GP surgeries in Torbay, South Hams or South Devon, please ask your doctor to refer you to the scheme.

There’s no way I could have managed the last seven months without the support of ‘Opportunities’

Sarah from Torbay

Sometimes all it takes to clear a befuddled mind is to spend some time in the great outdoors.

Of course, it’s not always that easy but there are lots of things we can do to look after our own mental health.

Kerrie and Kat are both mental health specialist advisers with the ‘Opportunities’ team.

On a rare opportunity to enjoy some autumnal Devon sunshine together, the pair went for a stroll along the beach at Teignmouth where they had a chance to catch up and chat about their work, and what mental health really means.
