We currently have two roles for volunteering in the criminal justice system:
1
Resettlement Support Volunteer
This role supports our Accommodation Support and Personal Wellbeing services.
You will predominantly work with participants on a one-to-one basis.
This can be remote, in the community or in a specific site, i.e., local probation office.
2
Activity Support Volunteer
This role supports our CFO Activity Hubs.
The role is based in one of our hubs and will include supporting participants face to face in group settings.

Seetec previously obtained Investing in Volunteers accreditation in April 2021 for our volunteering in conjunction with Probation, under the KSS CRC contract.
We are now working towards gaining full accreditation across the whole Volunteering Unit within our Resettlement and Rehabilitation directorate.

Bob – Bristol Volunteer Mentor
“I worked in education for 25+ years, teaching business & management at college to undergraduates.
“After retiring from teaching, I worked part-time as a community payback supervisor for Bristol probation.”
Areas of support
Community and remote, supporting the accommodation team with housing interviews, accommodation research etc, and general support with personal budgeting, opening bank accounts and obtaining ID.
Key Skills
Employment coaching, business advice, IT skills, group work.
Isobel – Bristol Volunteer Mentor
“I’m a Criminology and Law graduate currently working with Royal Mail.
“I’m personally very passionate about living a healthy and active lifestyle so I’m interested in supporting sessions in sports, cooking, baking and encouraging active lifestyle choices.”
Areas of support
Supports participants in our Bristol CFO Activity Hub- her speciality is baking!
Key Skills
Organisation, communication, reliability, creative approach to problem solving.
Mollie – Volunteer Mentor
“I’m a university graduate from Edge Hill, where I studied Criminology and Psychology. Supporting people is something I really enjoy.”
Areas of support
Community and remote with the Accommodation team- researching and viewing accommodation, and the Personal Wellbeing team- checking mood, discussing activities and attending appointments.
Key Skills
Good listener, strong communication skills-both written and verbal, problem solving.
Gary – Northants Volunteer Mentor
“I am a naturally helpful person, and my goal is to help others to help themselves.
“I have lived experience of living with a disability and housing issues.”
Areas of support
Community and remote. Working with the council, housing support, homelessness and applying for benefits.
Key Skills
Good listener, organised, able to use a computer.
