Employee Spotlight: Catherine Peacock

Articles 24 April 2022

Over the past three years, Catherine (Cat) Peacock has played a crucial role in the development of the Seetec brand. Today she shines a spotlight on her role within the business, her thoughts on our employee ownership status and a little more about her life outside of work.

After working in a plethora of different design and marketing agencies throughout her career, Employee Champion Cat joined Seetec in October 2019 as a Graphic Designer, later moving into the role of Senior Content Officer in early 2022.

“I am proud to use my skills for good in my role at Seetec. Creating quality content is important for communicating our goal of improving people’s lives, which inspires me to continue developing as a Graphic Designer and employ the latest design and communications trends.”

Becoming an employee champion

In early 2021, Cat became an Employee Champion for our corporate services division. This appointment allowed her to share the thoughts and ideas of colleagues from across the business with the Employee Council as to help inform business decisions.

“Colleagues of all levels should be a part of the conversations that helps improve our working lives, development, and progression and as a result makes the company successful for all of us.

“Becoming employee owned has made us all stakeholders in Seetec – creating pride and motivation in our working lives which will help create a high standard of service to customers. We benefit from Seetec’s successes as well as being contributors towards it.”

Cat also believes that our move to employee ownership, two months before the Coronavirus pandemic, encouraged colleagues to remain connected when working environments swung towards being remote for many.

“The Employee council helped colleagues during the pandemic in several ways – one of which I am still involved in is the Health and Wellbeing group. We had fortnightly calls keeping people connected and coming up with ideas of how to help colleagues during that period, such as the Zumba and yoga classes, online mindfulness sessions, the Strava fitness challenges and online quizzes. Many of these initiatives have been continued beyond the lock-down period due to their success.”

Life outside the workplace

Outside of her role at Seetec, Cat’s passion for animals is highlighted by her greatest passion of horse riding. But when she isn’t attending regular equine events with her horse Py, she can also be found exploring the UK countryside with her Springer Spaniel Flossy or busying away on an art project.

“I also love anything arty – illustration, painting, crafts and I recently inherited a Georgian style Dolls house, so have become interested in the world of 1:12 miniatures and all the crafts that come with that!”
