It’s been three years since Seetec underwent the transition to its employee-owned status. In this time, our colleagues and fellow employee owners have strived to make progress in harnessing our expertise and collective voice to help shape the direction and future ambitions of our organisation.
Over the past year, our focus has been on amplifying the voice of our operational colleagues on the front line of our service delivery to introduce meaningful change, providing a positive impact on the individuals and organisations that we work with.
Whilst there has been significant activity across the business in both the UK and Ireland, some of the key achievements we are most proud of include:
- Colleagues across the business worked with our Employee Trustee Director, Harriet Kelly, and our senior leadership team to launch our refreshed vision, mission and values – demonstrating our commitment as an organisation to creating a positive impact for the individuals and communities that we serve.
- External communications articulating the benefits of the employee ownership model were distributed as a briefing to MPs, calling for the Government to commission a new review examining the further democratisation of business structures.
- Three elected employee Council representatives joined our established social value committee, strengthening our passion to benefit the communities we work with, empower the individuals we support and provide sustainable solutions across our organisation.
- The first of our ‘Champions Connect’ networking events also took place, providing a unique opportunity for colleagues to come together and strengthen relationships, whilst sharing valuable insight into development opportunities for improving their business area and service delivery.
- Determined to tackle the cost-of-living crisis, a new working group was formed and tasked with exploring ways the organisation could support colleagues and service participants with the rising cost of everyday life across the UK and Ireland.
Commenting on the progress of our employee ownership journey, Ann-Marie Conway, Associate Director – Employee Ownership, said: “Whilst still only at the beginning of our employee ownership journey, we recognise the contributions of our fellow employee owners, partner organisations and service participants who continue to help guide the future ambitions of our organisation and refine our service delivery. We look forward to another year of exciting developments spearheaded by our employee ownership status.”
